The students have been very excited over last weeks for the school Halloween celebration. In American Culture classes, the native assistants have taught the students about traditions in the United States, like going to the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating. Some classes even got to decorate their own pumpkins, as pictured below.
A special day
On the 30th, of October, we had a very special day here at school. Students and teachers wore Halloween costumes to school, and instead of normal classes, we had a school wide celebration. Students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade together created a Halloween poster. Each class was responsible for making one puzzle piece, and then the puzzle pieces were put together to make a poster. Students also did Halloween activities, like writting scary stories, singing songs, and coloring.
Furthermore, students got to enjoy a breakfest with their class and watch a dance by the 6th graders. Older students were even able to go in the Haunted House. It was definitely a memorable day at Colegio Alkor!
