We welcomed the arrival of our English teachers to Alkor. The students began to review colors, shapes (like triangle, square, and circle), and songs and participated in a special ´Back to School´ activity.

The area of focus for the two year olds have been on shapes and colors and how to identify them in the classroom. They are learning 4 colors; green, red, yellow, and blue. The theme of colors and shapes are reinforced with English songs and story time books. The goal of learning retention is achieved through play based activities and interactive games with the teacher.

The four year olds did an activity where the teacher gave instructions to color certain school supplies certain colors. For example, ´Color the pencil green.´ This reinforced the students´ knowledge of colors in English as well as school supplies.

The five year olds did a ´school bus´activity using different shapes. They learned that in the United States, almost all of the students ride to school on a big yellow bus. The students identified the shapes and then created the bus as a group. This reinforced their learning of shapes and taught them how to work as a group.
Los niños de cinco años elaboran un autobús escolar utilizando formas geométricas. Aprenden que en los Estados Unidos casi todos los estudiantes van a la escuela en un gran autobús amarillo. Los alumnos identifican las formas y luego crean el autobús en grupo. Así, además de reforzar el aprendizaje de las formas en inglés, trabajan en modo cooperativo.
