SPELLING BEE
Como parte del proyecto bilingüe de nuestro colegio, es imprescindible incorporar tradiciones de la cultura americana a nuestra actividad cotidiana. Para ello nada mejor que familiarizar a nuestros estudiantes con la competición más popular para niños en EE.UU., con la particularidad de que no implica correr, ni saltar ni ningún tipo de ejercicio físico, sino que se trata de ejercitar la mente y deletrear a la perfección palabras de lo más inusuales. “Spelling Bee» es un concurso de ortografía para menores de 15 años que se celebra cada año en el área de Washington desde 1925.
Esta competición la hemos desarrollado en diferentes etapas:
- La primera etapa se ha desarrollado en las clases, celebrando cada una de ellas un concurso el día 2 de marzo de los cuales salió un ganador por clase.
- Los ganadores de 4º, 5º y 6º compitieron el día 15 de marzo en el salón de actos del colegio para elegir al mejor deletreador de cada curso, que representará al colegio en el concurso autonómico que tendrá lugar en Madrid. el 25 de abril del 2018.
- Para la final del 15 de marzo contamos con la colaboración de nuestros Language assisstants y los finalistas demostraron su alto nivel.
Gracias a todos los alumnos y profesores que con su esfuerzo, sus ganas, su colaboración y dedicación han conseguido que todos hayamos disfrutado.

SPELLING BEE
As part of the bilingual project of our school, it is essential to integrate traditions of American culture into our daily activities. In order to achieve this, there is nothing better than to familiarize our students with the most popular competition for students in the US, with the particularity that it does not involve running, jumping or any type of physical exercise, but rather it is about exercising the mind and spelling perfectly the most unusual words. «Spelling Bee» is a spelling contest for children under 15 that is held every year in the Washington area since 1925.
We have developed this competition in three different stages:
- The first stage has been developed in the classes; each of them celebrated a contest on March 2, where one winner came out per class.
- The winners of 4th, 5th and 6th grade competed on March 15th in the school’s auditorium to choose the best speller of each course, who will represent the school in the regional competition that will take place in Madrid on April 25, 2018.
- For the final stage, on March 15 we have the collaboration of our Language assistants and the finishers demonstrated their high level.
Thanks to all the students and teachers who with their effort, their enthusiasm, their collaboration and dedication have achieved that everyone could enjoyed the contest. Congratulations to our representatives!
