Happy Alkor-een!
The spook-tacular week-long event in Alkor was filled with fun and spine-tingling activities, from pumpkin carving, storytelling, slime making, mask designing, to ghoulish food preparation. In English classes, each grade was presented with the history of Halloween, why it’s celebrated, and the core understanding of cultural sharing.
The students also got to be creative and imaginative with a horror story write-up and narrate their favorite eerie films in class. It was a thrilling and mind blowing discussion, they said.
It was indeed another successful event at the campus. We hope you all enjoy the long weekend and Happy Alkor-een!
Each classroom was decorated with spider webs, hanging skeletons, happy h-a-l-l-o-w-e-e-n bandanas, Frankenstein and other monster paper cut-outs, swirling white lady, and a lot more. All first year students made the classic tradition of pumpkin scraping and carving in their American culture class. These so-called Jack-o’-lanterns were all-over the entrance hall, in different colors, shapes, forms, and sizes.

The corridors were also decorated with slasher paintings of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the ever-so-famous Joker.
Fourth year students gathered in the cafetería to make and design a variety of Halloween-themed desserts.
One of the groups covered a plastic skull with jamón ibérico, while others had to create a mini cemetery using gummy worms, wafer sticks, and bloody red syrups. They were all certified artists!
