A lo largo de la semana, y con ayuda de nuestros auxiliares americanos, aprendimos cuál fue el origen de esta centenaria festividad y sus costumbres.
El día de Thanksgiving fue especial para todos. Nuestros estudiantes más jóvenes, disfrutaron de unos talleres en el patio en los que aprendieron vocabulario específico de esta tradición. Lo pasaron en grande cazando pequeños animales, escuchando un cuento tradicional mientras creaban unas divertidas pulseras y jugando al juego del “gobble, gobble, turkey!”.
El día de Thanksgiving fue especial para todos.
Por otro lado, los más mayores participaron en un concurso cooperativo en el que tuvieron que decorar un mural por cursos. Aunque los tres pavos merecían ganar, el jurado se decantó por el que les pareció más creativo y original.
Esta jornada será muy difícil de olvidar, ya que nos permitió descubrir el verdadero mensaje de Thanksgiving: la importancia de estar agradecidos.

Thanksgiving
On November 23, we celebrated the traditional thanksgiving day at Alkor School. During the week and with the help of our American assistants, students learned the origin of this centenary festivity and its customs.
Thanksgiving Day was special for everyone. Our youngest students enjoyed some workshops in the playground where they learned specific vocabulary about this tradition. They had a great time hunting small animals, listening to a traditional story while creating funny bracelets and playing the game «gobble, gobble, turkey!».

On the other hand, the older ones participated in a cooperative contest in which they had to decorate a turkey poster. Although the three turkeys deserved to win, the jury opted for the most creative and original one.
This day will be very difficult to forget, as it allowed us to discover the true message of Thanksgiving: the importance of being grateful.
